Our Cleaning Equipment and Chemicals
We use Numatic and Semca industrial deep cleaning machines to clean upholstery and carpets. PROCHEM carpet and upholstery cleaning chemicals are our chemicals of choice due their effectiveness and superior cleaning capability. These chemicals are not available in shops as they are designed for professional use only. Prochem is a leading manufacturer in the carpet and upholstery cleaning chemical industry. The chemicals are manufactured in South Africa under licence from Prochem USA.
Why is Deep Cleaning better than other cleaning methods
The method we use to clean your carpets and rugs is the deep extraction method, also know as warm water extraction, hot water extraction or steam cleaning. It is the method recommended by most carpet manufacturers. It has been proven to be the most effective method of cleaning carpets, removing dirt from deep within the carpet pile. The process works by pretreating the carpet with special detergents, then injecting a warm water solution deep into the carpet pile. The dirt, detergent and water is then immediately suctioned from the carpet.
Other methods of cleaning include shampooing, dry cleaning and bonnet cleaning. These all require agitation of the carpet pile using brushes. This agitation is not good for the carpet fibres and causes physical damage to the fibres reducing the life of your carpet. These methods also do not deep clean, hence being referred to a "light surface cleaning methods". We therefore do not use these methods.
It is recommended to deep clean your carpets about once a year, even more frequently in high traffic areas, if you have children, pets or allergies. This will ensure that they last longer, that the dirt does not embed deeper into the carpet and it improve the air quality in your home. Regular vacuuming does not remove all the dust and dirt from a carpet, so deep extraction is the only effective method of removing the dirt.
Contrary to popular belief your carpets are not left wet when using the deep cleaning method. The vacuum removes most of the water from the carpet, leaving the carpet slightly damp. It takes about 2 or 3 hours to dry completely, leaving your carpets clean and soft.
Deep cleaning also works well on your fabric upholstered furniture, removing the dirt and dust trapped deep inside your fabric and padding. As there is no agitation of the the fabric surface as with other cleaning methods, your fabric will last longer.
Deep cleaning also thoroughly cleans mattresses, removing bedmites, dust and stains trapped in the fabric, making it an ideal cleaning methods for all kinds of mattresses.
